THE AFRICAN/AFRICAN AMERICAN REALTY WITHIN THE X-MEN SAGA
* The X-MEN made their debut in 1963 / 1963 marks the year where the civil rights movement was at its height
* The X-MEN faced racism, bigotry, and segregation / In the 60's blacks faced racism, bigotry, and segregation in their pursuit for rights.
* The X-MEN's founder, Charles Xavier, had ideological differences with the founder of the brotherhood of evil mutants, Magneto / As a "passivist" and a intergrationalist, Martin Luther King Jr, was at odds with the separatist and "radical" Malcolm X (guess who was betrayed as the evil Magneto)
* The X-MEN were named such because of the "xtra" composition in their genes (and because of Xavier) / At birth, Africans are born with higher xtra skeletal density levels, xrta high melanin levels, and develop reasoning and motor control skills xtra fast.
* The mutant community, with its various groups all with different ideologies, have problems uniting with fellow mutants / because of the lack of self knowledge and lost of cultural continuity, Africans cannot unite with each other due to the different ideologies we subscribe to.
If we can find OUR own reality in things we see everyday, we can instill pride in ourselves and our children. No one else on earth shares, in full, the range of talents and abilities we possess and, with our biology being unique to us, it's impossible for others to perceive the world we do. Possessing this view of reality, in this way, is the true meaning of having an African centric view.
